Microcosm – Macrocosm
2014 — 15
The etching is an artistic technique where the medium finds all its power by the importance of its process. The medium’s constraint allows, in my opinion, to free the creative act from any expectation, leaving room for the release of gesture and creating surprise regarding the subject and the composition.

My etching work represents my universe without any form of underlying message. A universe that emerges, simply.
To use words, I would say that it focuses on the encounter between microcosm and macrocosm, movement and statism, and even between individual and universal —inspired by plants, minerals and molecular structures — exploring the fragile links between all these entities.

This series is composed by seven plates that operate independently. They can be printed in superposition - up to 3 plates on the same sheet - with unique colors for each print. Encounters are created randomly between textures and lines, between the different printing plates, between the different compositions.
